The streets of Bel-Air once again echoed with gunfire during the night of December 8–9, turning the neighborhood into an improvised war zone. Early reports point to several deaths—still unconfirmed—but enough to terrify an already struggling population.
Among the dead are reportedly influential members of the Viv Ansanm coalition, including Don Roro, Vag and Dèdè, well-known figures of local organized crime. The feared area leader, Kempes, reportedly escaped an ambush by fleeing just before his men were gunned down.
Residents say gunshots lasted the entire night, forcing people to barricade themselves to avoid stray bullets. This new episode is part of a fierce struggle for territorial control—an internal conflict further destabilizing the precarious balance of the area.
This surge of violence follows recent clashes involving other coalition groups, including those from Gran Ravin, led by Ti Lapli, and Izo from Village-de-Dieu. The recurrence of these internal wars confirms the disintegration of already fragile alliances and suggests an even more unstable period for the capital.
