The Central Office Of Judiciary Police (DCPJ in French) arrested former MP Arnel Bélizaire on Saturday, March 14, 2026, around 4:45 p.m. at a hotel in Pétion-Ville.
The arrest was carried out by judicial police officers executing a warrant as part of a targeted operation.
Authorities state that the former lawmaker was actively wanted for several serious charges, including financing terrorism, attempted attack, conspiracy against internal state security, and criminal association.
His arrest comes amid intensified operations targeting individuals suspected of involvement in criminal activities and armed networks.
Notably, his last public appearance occurred the previous week in Pétion-Ville, on the eve of the closure of political party registrations at the CEP.
