The Haitian National Police (HNP), supported by the Anti-Gang Force (GSF), launched a large-scale operation on Sunday, November 2, 2025, in the Simon Pelé and Village Solidarité areas. The exchange of gunfire resulted in several casualties among armed groups, including some suspected leaders.
According to police sources, the operation aimed to regain control of several strategic routes that had been blocked for days. Thanks to strengthened coordination, the deployed units managed to repel the assailants and secure multiple key locations.
Law enforcement also cleared Haile Selassie Avenue, which had long been blocked by gang-erected barricades. This intervention marks another step in the gradual recovery of areas previously under criminal influence.
