A security operation carried out by the Haitian National Police (HNP) in Mazerre, in the commune of Quartier-Morin, resulted in the deaths of three armed individuals on Saturday, March 7. The intervention took place around 12:30 p.m. as investigators from the Northern Departmental Judicial Police Service were accompanying a land surveying mission in the area.

According to information provided by the HNP, officers were on site with Adoram St Fleurant and surveyor Fedenel Jemelus to ensure the security of the operation. Upon their arrival, heavily armed men reportedly opened fire, triggering an exchange of gunfire with law enforcement.
