Who we are

Haiti Chronicle is an online newspaper that provides factual and in-depth reporting on Haiti’s government and society. We cover the decisions of the executive, the legislative and the judicial, and its impact on Haitian society.

Finally, we cover foreign government’s decisions likely to impact Haiti.

The mission

The mission of Haiti Chronicle is inform the population home and abroad on the current state of the Haitian government and society. This includes decisions taken by the executive, legislative and judicial and their ultimate impact on society.

Values

We believe in neutral and objective reporting that shows all sides of a story. We collaborate with all people who can inform and report in a factual and objective manner. We do not support any political party nor groups of people. All of our reporting should serve the general interest of informing the Haitian population at home and abroad.

We believe in The United Nations' 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights states: "Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference, and to seek, receive, and impart information and ideas through any media regardless of frontiers.

We believe amongst others in article 40 of the Haitian Constitution that states: “The State is obliged to give publicity through the spoken, written and televised press, in the Creole and French languages, to laws, orders, decrees, international agreements, treaties, conventions, everything that affects national life, except for information relating to national security.”
